Another surprisingly efficient morning at the Hill today - I had a plan & stuck to it - brill!
Of course, part of my efficacy was due to the fact that it was extremely cool & blustery - I forgot my woolly hat - & it was not a great day to be outdoors, which did encourage me to get on with it.
I picked all of the FRENCH BEANS (cherokee trail of tears, blauhilde, birds egg/barlotti, emperor of russia, delinel, talisman, triomphe de farcy & fortel) - all in separate bags with clear labels.
Then I picked a CUCUMBER (tasty burpless) & the remaining SWEETCORN (tender & true f1) & dug up the plants.
Then I came home.
Pumpkins and squashes looking amazing.
ReplyDeleteAre those your sunflowers standing so tall & proud at the back?
Hi Hazel
ReplyDeleteWe stayed home all day and didn't worry about the plot too windy and cold for the pretenders, well done..
Today I removed the last of my beans too - and found a final cucumber underneath!
ReplyDeleteWell spotted on the multi-headed sunflower, Bilbo - I planned for it to grow within the bean frame (for protection) but all it has meant is that the beans on each side of the frame next to it have not thrived at all - so I won't be doing that again!
ReplyDeleteAt the last count there are two yellow competition pumpkins, three huge green 'olive' squash, and about nine bright orange 'red kuri' squash. That's a lot of 'mock lemon curd'! {g}
Don't blame you not braving the weather B&P - do you want any of the aforementioned squash??
Bonus with the cucumber, Flum! Bet you've lost your dining room table under drying beans!
If you don't think I'm being too cheeky, I would love to try a red kuri sqush if you have one to spare
ReplyDeletePlease do help yourself to a couple of red kuri, Julie - I'm certainly not short of them!
