Welcome to our plot!

I'm Hazel, and in Nov 2006 my friend Jane and I took on a half plot at Hill Allotments, Sutton Coldfield - we want the satisfaction of growing and eating our own fruit and veg, and to improve our diet (and fitness!).

This is the story of what happened next...........

Frugality...

I've been otherwise occupied today so I've not been to the Hill, but whilst out & about, I did happen across a branch of Culpeper's, which contained a stand of Suffolk Seeds herb packets, in which there happened to be a packet of camomile seeds! Hurrah!

However when I turned the packet over & saw the price - and being somewhat conservative in the purse department - I put it back on the rack & decided revert to plan A which is to ask if anyone on the seed swap has any spare.

  1. I'm sure Maureen would understand and will not be surprised when someone on the Grapevine has some spares for you {smile}

  2. I'm sure seed companies are taking the Michael. Most people assume you can't save seeds (in some cases you can't or it's difficult but in many cases you can). We don't need them do we?

  3. I'm sure someone will come up with some seeds for you. I have always found such generosity in fellow gardeners! Saving seed can be a labour intensive process sometimes, with some seeds - but the effort is worth it. I agree the seed companies are taking the mickey!
